We were amazed that this was the most expensive hotel booking on our tour around southern Sweden (including Stockholm) but the standard of accommodation was by far the worst. When booking a double room for two adults we expected something that offered a little more space than a typical university student’s study-bedroom. In booking we noted the room size was specified as 18sq m but the picture also showed two twin beds side by side. In the room we were allocated that arrangement was not possible and the two single beds were cramped and narrow. In our previous hotel on our tour, our ensuite bathroom offered more space than the bedroom at Svanen! The price charged for this accommodation was excessive. We will not stay at this hotel again nor will we recommend it to others.

Hotell Svanen provides excellent value for money, offering affordable prices without compromising on quality. The attention to detail is evident throughout the hotel, from the clean and comfortable rooms with ensuite bathrooms to the friendly and accommodating staff. The hotel's location in a quiet area ensures a peaceful and relaxing stay.

Cleanliness of the room was good

The toilett in the romm was very, very small, even I am not a fat man (75 kg).

This hotel offers the perfect location for a relaxing vacation, with stunning views of the lake next to a tiny beach. The facilities are outstanding, and the room is spacious and modern. The breakfast is delicious with a wide range of dishes. The service is exceptional, with friendly and helpful staff at all times. You can easily walk to the nearby local restaurants, bars, and attractions just outside the city center.

The price might be quite high considering the basic overall standard on offer.

The room was very small but ok and we had a nice view (3rd floor). Good located to walk into the city center (Kalmar castle) and to drive to öland. Good breakfast.

Very small wash basin in the bath room. Be aware that you have to pay a service fee when you buy stamps even if you buy cards there!

No major issues, everything was just fine.

Location to town was a short 10 minute walk.

Hotel is also a hostel. Room was expensive and no desk to write on. Very basic. Internet expensive as well. Breakfast was very basic considering what I had paid.

Great breakfast included in the price and a well-equipped kitchenette with a stove and big freezer were very convenient during our xmas stay. The structure was modern and clean, a nice surprise. The location was central and easy to navigate from for exploring the area.

The rooms were tiny and uncomfortable; the beds were way too narrow for what we are used to in a twin room.

Pleasant location on the edge of town with a small car park and free street parking. Comfortable beds and very quiet ensured a good night's sleep. About 20 mins walk to centre.

Note when staying here, everything except breakfast is charged for, however this would not stop me staying again.

The hotel had a great location with easy access to many of the main attractions in the city. The staff was friendly and always willing to help with any questions we had. The room was fairly clean and tidy with good amenities provided.

The breakfast was basic and lacked any real variety. The beds were not comfortable and the pillows were old and lumpy.
